　　一、修飾可數(shù)名詞的常用修飾語(yǔ)

　　有these, those, few, a few, many, a good [great] many, a great [good] number of 等：

　　Few people would agree with this. 很少人會(huì)同意這種看法。

　　He has a great many friends here. 他在這兒有很多朋友。

　　【注】a good [great] many 后直接跟名詞，不用介詞of。但是，若其后所接名詞有the, these, my 等限定詞修飾，則要用介詞of：a great many of my friends 我的朋友當(dāng)中的'許多人

　　二、修飾不可數(shù)名詞的常用修飾語(yǔ)

　　有this, that, little, a little, a bit of, much, a great deal of, a large amount of 等：

　　I have little time to do it. 我沒(méi)什么時(shí)間來(lái)做此事。

　　He didn’t give me much money. 他沒(méi)給我很多錢(qián)。

　　A great deal of money is spent on research. 研究工作上花了許多錢(qián)。

　　【注】在現(xiàn)代英語(yǔ)中，a great amount of 后有時(shí)也接可數(shù)名詞，但有許多語(yǔ)法學(xué)家反對(duì)，學(xué)生最好避免使用。

　　三、修飾(不)可數(shù)名詞的常用修飾語(yǔ)

　　有些修飾語(yǔ)既可修飾可數(shù)名詞也可修飾不可數(shù)名詞，如all, some, enough, a lot of, lots of, plenty of, a (large) quantity of 等：

　　You needn’t hurry. There’s plenty of time. 你不必著急。時(shí)間多著哩。

　　There are plenty of men out of work. 失業(yè)的人很多。

　　We need a quantity of baskets. 我們需要一批籃子。

　　He put a small quantity of sugar in the milk. 他在牛奶中放了少量的糖。

　　四、易錯(cuò)說(shuō)明

　　有些名詞形式上是復(fù)數(shù)，但卻被用作不可數(shù)名詞，使用much, little等修飾語(yǔ)：

　　He hasn’t got much brains. 他沒(méi)什么頭腦。(from www.hxen.com)

　　He took much pains to do the work. 他費(fèi)了不少心做這工作。

　　I said I wouldn’t want much wages. 我說(shuō)過(guò)我不要很多工資。
